A Million Acts of Hope is a national invitation to celebrate the everyday acts of kindness, care and connection happening across the UK, during a week of action from 13-20 May.
At a time when division can feel loud, the campaign wants to bring together all these everyday acts of hope and shine a light on the people and communities making them happen.
Supporting the campaign, Lancaster District CVS is inviting voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise members to share all the actions – big and small – that help to make our communities strong, healthy and caring places where everyone feels they belong.
During the week of action CVS will be sharing a social media series called Hope Lives Here, alongside a live Hope Board across its channels celebrating real stories, people and moments.
Across the Lancaster district, these moments of hope are already happening every day.
This week is about making them visible.
You could share something that’s taken place in your group or organisation, or something you’ve seen from somebody else.
You could also choose to celebrate the support that’s come from a funder or partner.
You could send something in writing, some photographs, or a short video – it’s up to you:
- Email your short written stories and reflections, alongside photographs if you have them, to stevedixon@lancastercvs.org.uk
- Take a short video on your phone. Record vertically, talking to the camera for a minute or so and use www.wetransfer.com to send it to stevedixon@lancastercvs.org.uk
Send your submissions as early as possible – the deadline is Wednesday 13 May.
