FoodFutures is a multi-stakeholder partnership and sustainable food network. We are made up of different organisations that work together to achieve our shared vision of “a thriving local food system that is healthy, resilient and fair”.

This vision is purposefully vague as we recognise it can mean different things to different people. We welcome this diversity.

All our work is guided by Our Food Futures: A community food strategy for North Lancashire

Local food champion

The local food champion network aims to support people in finding their place and role within the wider FoodFutures network.

For some this may involve joining a working group, helping out at an event or practical work day, or joining the Food Friends small society lottery. For others it may involve writing articles for THRIVE Magazine, distributing leaflets or regularly volunteering with a local community food project. We aim to support you in finding a role that matches your interests and skills.

By doing this,  we aim to cultivate a network of Local Food Champions that work and live in each hamlet, village, town and city in North Lancashire.

To support this we will offer:

  • An induction/ intro session to interested individuals.
  • Sign you up to our Local Food Champion and FoodFutures newsletter.
  • Invite you to skill share events and training sessions where relevant.
  • Invite you to socials and networking events.
  • Invite you to our decision making table – helping us shape our work going forwards.

This is a food citizen role. It will support you in playing an active part in democratically shaping our local food system towards one that is healthy, resilient and fair.

To register your interest, please complete this form.

Partnerships and research projects

FoodFutures is often asked to collaborate on projects and we welcome enquiries of this nature. We recommend attending a working group or quarterly partnership meeting with your query first. We can then support you in identifying key people and next steps for taking your idea forwards.
