Cork Road Allotments Open Morning: Composting Eggcup Food Waste

The compost crew at Cork Road are eager to welcome folk from other allotments to encourage and inspire them to compost Eggcup’s food waste.

This collaboration is a great way to close the loop of nutrients locally, support the work of Eggcup and create living compost for plot holders. Some surplus produce from plot holders is gifted to Eggcup in return, this supplements their offer to food club members with local fresh produce. 

Visit the open morning if you’re interested in:

• The compost crew sharing their journey so far, demonstrating how they manage the  composting process and answering your questions.
• Find inspiration and practical advice for how your allotments could develop community focused composting.  
• Practical demonstration of chopping and mixing the food waste at 10:15am and 11am.

Cork Road Allotments entrance is at the end of Exeter Avenue in Bowerham, LA1 4AL. Parking is limited with other roadside parking. Please respect the allotments’ neighbours.
