Sharing Nature’s Wisdom: Nature Folklore Walk
Enjoy a seasonal walk with Ros Jones from Wildlife Wellbeing Walks.
Ros says:
“On a grey day, usually after rain, my Nana would search for the smallest chink in the clouds and say “There’s enough blue sky to patch a sailor’s trousers!”
We are looking for the pearls of wisdom that family, friends and community used to (and perhaps still do) share with us about all things nature: the weather, plants, animals, growing and harvesting food and even some of the things that go bump or screech in the night!
We have a rich oral history, sharing stories that kept us safe and well. We would like to collect some of these sayings, stories and folklore and preserve them for future generations.
Come and join us at Williamson Park on Wednesday 9 September from 10am – 11.30am which will include a walk and some prompts to help get your memories flowing.”
