Apple Giveaway at Eggcup
Eggcup will be giving away apples – both cookers and eaters – at the Lancaster Depot, opposite the bus station, on Monday 29 September, 11am – 6pm.
Please come along and help yourselves! Open to all.
Already got too many apples? Take a look at the free Share the Harvest resource kit for a guide to organising your own apple picking activity, and other ideas for what to do with surplus fruit.
Want to be a food waste hero? Sign up as a gleaning volunteer with the North Lancashire Gleaning Network and help harvest surplus fruit and veg to save it from going to waste. Contact Jay_CL@eggcup.org for more info, or take a look at foodfutures.org.uk/share-the-harvest.
____________
This event is part of Share the Harvest, a month-long festival celebrating locally grown varieties of apples and pears, rescuing unharvested fruit and raising awareness of food waste through a range of community events. FoodFutures and the Closing Loops project invite everyone in North Lancashire to pitch in and harvest, preserve, celebrate and of course eat apples and pears this autumn.
