I’m Ellie, the face and baker behind Baked by Ell. I started this journey in January 2025 and it’s one the best decisions I could have made!
Baking has been a huge part of my life since childhood when I was in the kitchen every weekend with my nan. It’s a passion that’s been handed down through generations, from my nan working in a bakery when she was my age, to me running my own baking business.
I try to blend traditional recipes that have been handed down to me with modern techniques and flavours I’ve learned along the way. I was raised on the idea that homemade is best, which is something I still live by. I try to hand make as much as possible, including jams, curds, fillings and so on, which my customers love!
After spending two years learning and developing my skills at Kendal College, I knew the next natural step was to share my bakes with people in the local area and have full reign over what I create. My time at college also grew my knowledge on seasonal produce, and I try to use seasonal fruits in my bakes year-round.
I offer bespoke cakes, cupcakes and dessert tables, pastries, brownies, blondies, cookies and much more. I truly love making people’s celebrations more special with a bespoke cake and dessert table or brightening their day with a bake at a market stall.
I attend multiple markets every month in the local area to showcase my bakes. I look forward to being at the upcoming Harvest Market on September 12th, following the huge success and support I received at the Midsummer Market in June.
I love being in my local town centre, speaking to customers and making connections with other stall holders. The days at the market are long, but it’s all worth it when I get to hear lovely feedback from people and see the smile on their faces when they sink their teeth into a delicious bake. That’s the best reward in the world!
I stock Replenish Kitchen, inside 3-1-5 gym, twice a week with brownies, blondies and cookies which is perfect for a post workout treat.
