Lancaster District Food Poverty Alliance (LDFPA) is recruiting a development worker!
The Community Food Development Worker will oversee work addressing issues within the Lancaster District Food Poverty Alliance (LDFPA) Action Plan. The post holder will report to and work alongside the Alliance Coordinator and be overseen by the LDFPA core group.
You will have a passion for engaging with communities in food insecurity and issues of poverty. You will have to use your own initiative. Experience of planning and delivering community-based projects is essential for this post.
We are looking for someone who is as passionate about social justice as we are to help us bring our plan into reality. Your work will contribute directly to enacting real change within our district. You’ll work alongside our fantastic Alliance Coordinator as well as directly with our group members – supporting, engaging and ultimately activating communities experiencing poverty. You’ll need to have excellent organisational skills and the ability to work with a range of people. You will also work well as part of our team and be confident to use your own initiative. In short, you will care deeply about tackling inequality and making our district a better place to live, and you’ll have the drive and the skills to help make it happen.
Our network is open to anyone who has a desire to contribute towards positive change in our community. We are committed to providing any reasonable adjustments to the role to ensure that it is as inclusive as possible.
The role will be field based with a number of office spaces (provided by member organisations) available to use, as well as the option for home working. We also offer flexible working hours. We particularly encourage people with lived experience of poverty to apply.
If it sounds like you could be the perfect fit, we really want to hear from you.
