Fundraising Support

Got a great idea for a food project? We can help you make it a reality!

System change requires many hands working together. At FoodFutures, we aim to harness the skills, resources and ideas of people and organisations throughout the community to create a thriving food system for North Lancashire that is healthy, resilient and fair.

This means we are very keen to help with funding applications and other forms of fundraising and relationship building throughout the community. So if you are working on a project connected to local, sustainable food that could help us achieve the goals we’ve mapped out in our 2030 Strategy, we are here to support you! We are also keen to develop related themes like circular economy, regenerative enterprise and waste reduction that relate to our other collaborative projects. You can see a full list of these here.

On this page you’ll find some resources to help you fundraise and links to further support if you need them. Good luck!

Linking you in to our network so you can get the best support for your project

Our experience is that the most successful projects don’t operate in a silo. Instead, they form successful relationships with other people and organisations that are doing related work in the community. For this reason, if you’re not currently connected in to FoodFutures, we’d really recommend that, as a first step, you check out some of the ways in which you can get involved with us, including by joining a working group to find out what others are doing on similar topics.

Getting started on your fundraising journey

Top tips for fundraising

If you're new to all this, check out our video opposite which explains some key things to know which will help you get going.

In-depth fundraising guide

Ready to start? Read our detailed guide which takes you step by step through the process of writing a grant application. It also explains some other ways in which you can raise money, including Crowdfunding and direct giving.

This guide was prepared for schools taking part in our schools project Where the Wildings Are! to help them raise money to redevelop their grounds for food growing, nature play and wildlife. However, the principles in it are transferrable to any kind of project or funding dilemma, so we hope it helps you too. And, if you have a question that’s not covered in the guide, please get in touch and we’ll do our best to help.

Grants to help regenerative and zero-waste initiatives grow into something great

The Pots of Possibility fund supports ideas for developing a zero-waste, circular and regenerative economy in North Lancashire. It is part of Closing Loops, a five-year £1.5 million project funded by The National Lottery Community Fund to support initiatives to transform waste into a valuable resource and stimulate a thriving, regenerative local economy. Smaller and larger grants are available to test out new ideas and scale up existing ones.
