Wildlife Fair at Fairfield Orchard
North Lancashire Wildlife Group is holding a Wildlife Fair on Sunday, 23 July from 10.30am to 4.00pm at Fairfield Orchard in Lancaster, LA1 5ED, at the end of Sunnyside Lane. With free entry and free activities, everyone is welcome to come and explore our local wildlife.
There will be several tents with display exhibit boxes and other items on woodland, heathland and coastal wildlife:
* * Pond water to show people pond creatures and leaf litter to explore what can be found there.
* Children’s corner with activities and a trail through the orchard.
* * Information leaflets from many local wildlife groups.
* * Photo and text displays giving general information about us and a variety of habitat themes.
The Fairfield Association will have a refreshments tent with drinks and homemade biscuits and cakes.
To get out and see wildlife we are scheduling half-hour guided walks throughout the day on different themes including birds, wildflowers, grasses & lichens, spiders, insects and pond dipping. For those who want to learn; practical 10-minute pollinator surveying sessions will be held to show how it’s done – which you can then do in your own garden or anywhere.
As more details become available they will be put on our website: www.nlwg.org.uk
