Wave Applefest in Bare

Wave Community is hosting an Applefest in Bare on Monday 19 October, 3-5pm.

• Bring your surplus fruit and veg to share with your community
• Juice your own apples (or use the ones provided!) and bring an empty glass bottle to take some home
• Learn more about dehydrating fruit as a way to preserve it
• Bring your apples and a small sprig with leaves on it to get your apple variety identified by an apple expert

Free event, just turn up

This event is part of Share the Harvest, a seasonal festival celebrating locally grown varieties of apples and pears, rescuing unharvested fruit and raising awareness of food waste through a range of community events. FoodFutures and the Closing Loops project invite everyone in North Lancashire to pitch in and harvest, preserve, celebrate and of course eat apples and pears this autumn.
