Spring Into Action: making botanical plant mandalas on fabric

Hosted by Olivia and Alex from Where the Wildings Are! Schools project, this workshop will involve collecting plant material from the garden areas at Ryeland’s Primary School and using them to create pretty designs on fabric, using a hammer technique.

This is an event for children under 5 years old and their families.

Children will be guided to make mandala patterns using the leaves and flowers they find, and then covering the designs with a cloth, they will be guided to hammer on top of the design. This leaves an imprint of the plant on the cloth and can be used as decoration in the home.

To join the workshop enter the school grounds via the year 1 and 2 playground entrance. There’s a gate directly on the pavement on Torrisholme Road.
