Lancaster’s Harvest Market

Celebrate the season with local food producers, crafts people, artists and musicians at the Harvest edition of Lancaster’s Seasonal Markets. There will be street food stalls, local produce, arts, crafts, community stalls and the launch of the autumn edition of North Lancashire’s community food magazine THRIVE.

Friday 12 September 2024

10am – 5pm

Market Square, Lancaster LA1 1HT

For the first time, the Harvest Market will host a Pop-Up Landed Community Kitchen:

Cook Marina will be serving up a seasonal tomato soup to ease us into the autumn. Come anytime between 12:00 and 14:00 for a sit-down meal in Market Square, at a suggested donation of £5.

This marks the first of a series of Landed Community Kitchens – community meals that celebrate local, seasonal produce. More than just a meal, LCKs about building community and having conversations around food. They’re a step toward building a local food system in North Lancashire that prioritises local growers, community connection and access to nutritious food for all.

If you would like a stall at the market, please contact Andi Chapple on andi_CL@lessuk.org or mobile 07891 908025.

The Harvest Market 2025 is part of Share the Harvest, a month-long festival celebrating locally grown varieties of apples and pears, rescuing unharvested fruit and raising awareness of food waste through a range of community events. FoodFutures and the Closing Loops project invite everyone in North Lancashire to pitch in and harvest, preserve, celebrate and of course eat apples and pears this autumn.  Find out more at foodfutures.org.uk/share-the-harvest
