The next edition of the Gregson volunteer led series of talks is ‘Plants Are Awesome’ by Ros Jones
Plants are awesome. But don’t just take our word for it. Experience the joy and wonder of getting to know a bit more about the green bits in the background (or on your plate) and understanding how truly remarkable they are. From the simplest forms that can dry out and be revived hundreds of years later, to the complex and intricate flower-heads that are designed to attract pollinators, there is an amazing and wonderful world that we often overlook, right on our doorstep. This will be an interactive talk with (responsibly sourced) plant samples to view up close and personal.
Ros is a keen amateur naturalist with an academic background in botany, ecology and field biology and has been leading Wildlife Wellbeing Walks in Lancaster since 2022, to help people connect with the natural world for their wellbeing.
