Bio-fertilisers Event 

Location: Backsbottom Farm, Roeburndale West, Lancaster La2 9ll.
Date & time: Thursday 8th August 2024, 10.00 am – 15.30 pm.

Join us in the Forest of Bowland, as project member Rod Everett, hosts and facilitates a
day all about bio fertilizer. We’ll be able to see many different versions of bio fertilizer,
Anaerobic/facultative systems and aerobic systems. You will make a Johnson-Su
composter and prepare some Indigenous Micro-organism biofertilizer and see how Rod
has adapted a Erth Panbuster with drippers for applying the microbes into the soil.

There will also be an opportunity at the end to see Rod’s cider vinegar production.
-From Hornby take Moor Lane going south up the hill, at cross road from B6480 follow on over
cattle grid and then take track first on left to the farm.
-From Wray village take school lane going south up the hill in the centre of the village
Follow on uphill to T junction Go on up and over cattle grid.
-After the cattle grid, our track is the first on left for Backsbottom Farm and Middle Wood Trust. Go
down road into car park next to small windmill. Just below the car park is the Portacabin Classroom
in the farmyard, please head for there.

Arrive from 10am, for refreshments, to begin the morning session at 10.30am.
After the morning session, we will break for a hearty lunch, which we will provide noting all dietary
After lunch we will have the afternoon session aiming to be all finished for 3.30pm departures.

Notes: Please bring wellies and waterproofs.
